What did I learn that could be used with my learners or immediately use in my Practice?
I like the idea of 5 "Ping-Pong" Conversations. I have a lot of Learners that do not have good 'conversational skills'. I would like to try this method to see how long they can focus on one topic of conversation. i.e. how many "ping-pongs we can have before our conversation is lost.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life
I am quite keen in purchasing a "hand-held gimble" to attach to my i-phone. My videos leave a lot to be desired, and this 'gizmo' may help.
Made a new Playlist. Have to give my husband a new g-mail account etc., so he is not sharing mine.
And HEAPS in the afternoon.
Now I am going to have a go at creating a "Pick a Path" Story for my Struggling Readers. I will probably have different Levels ready for next year, as an interesting (and different) way into Reading. Watch this space!👀😊

DFI. 21st October Analogy- A bit of Reflective Thinking.
I liken my huge IT journey to one of my children struggling to read. My children get the opportunity to have 1:1 support twice a week, from me. But it must seem like a frustratingly long time between help.
I know that I feel frustrated with the once a week support. I know that I could probably ask for help from other professionals, but they are busy teachers, and have their own work to do.
I feel like I am making huge steps in my Learning Journey., and am trying to practise between Workshops.... but my knowledge of suitable apps is limited... ie I have all these "strategies" now, but which one is the "right one" to use??? Do I try them all until I find one that fits, like I ask a child to do in Reading? Sitting right beside the child at the moment s/he gets stuck, I can supply just the right amount of scaffolding right then and there. I don't have that luxury with my IT Journey, so sure it's frustrating at times. Maybe I need to practise more patience and perseverance...
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Manaikalani embraces Visual Learning. The whole Learning Journey should be visible. There should be no surprises for the Learner. It isn't about 20 questions and "The Answer is in MY head-it's what I am thinking." Words triggered my thinking like:- Communication; Collaborative; Interactive Learning.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
I am getting a lot more confident. I am remembering how to do more "stuff" independently. I am trying not to panic and randomly press buttons. I like the Manaiakalani philosophy as it sits well with my own. It is a comfortable place for me.
