DFI 5.

DFI 5.

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

Manaikalani embraces Visual Learning. The whole Learning Journey should be visible. There should be no surprises for the Learner. It isn't about 20 questions and "The Answer is in MY head-it's what I am thinking." Words triggered my thinking like:- Communication; Collaborative; Interactive Learning.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

All sorts of new tricks:- using "Snipping Tool" with ease; getting into and using Google Draw a lot faster; and building up my Website. A lot of information on different pages.

What did I learn that could be used with my learners or immediately use in my Practice?

Just getting more confident and using different apps and tools that I didn't know existed before.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

I am getting a lot more confident. I am remembering how to do more "stuff" independently. I am trying not to panic and randomly press buttons. I like the Manaiakalani philosophy as it sits well with my own. It is a comfortable place for me.

  1. Kia ora Shirley. I am very impressed with how much you learned today! These sessions are so full on and overwhelming most of the time, but it is so nice to have a good chunk of time like we did today to just tutu and explore these amazing apps we have access to! Isn't the snipping tool the best? It makes life so much easier! Best of luck for continuing to practice and master all of your new skills!

    1. Morena Rachael,
Thank you so much for your comment. You are my first one ever!
Yes, I agree with having so much time to tutu. I have just learnt a faster way to take a screen shot. I was using the Snipping Tool in a long and complicated way; now it's a click, a drag, a click and it's done. More Visibility lol.
      Windows shift s
Click and drag to take a photo
      Paste into your doc
